Business Owner (Residence) Visa (Subclass 892)

The Residence visas are for people who have previously held a Provisional visa, and have already established a business in Australia, or become successful in an already-running purchased business. You cannot apply for this visa unless you have previously held a Provisional visa, or the pre-March 2003 Independent Executive Visa, Subclass 457IE.  The Subclass 457IE visa is no longer available for application, but there are still some people in Australia on this visa who may be interested in applying for the State or Territory Sponsored Business Owner (Residence) Visa, Subclass 892.

Once you have become established in business here, the Residence visas are not difficult. In fact, the requirements for the Residence visas are lower than they are for the Provisional visas. This is because the Australian government is keen to encourage enterprising and skilled business managers to remain in Australia. This Visa has concession for people in Australia who hold a SIR Visa, Subclass 497, and who wish to apply for their permanent visa. There are reduced fees and there is no need to have English re-assessed.
